Rebuilding Morals, Restoring Hope, Empowering Youth
Ekikaari Ky'Emicwe n'Oburyo is a youth holiday programme designed to make school holidays meaningful, practical and transformative. It brings young people together in a safe, positive environment where they learn, participate, build confidence and develop values that prepare them for life. Participants take part in moral mentorship, counselling, leadership and patriotism, health and HIV/AIDS awareness, anti-drug abuse education, sports and recreation, traditional cultural gatherings, business planning, practical life skills, agriculture, food preparation and cooking, creativity, exhibitions and other community-focused activities. Ekikaari also provides opportunities for participants to grow and prepare green vegetables, learn how to harvest, prepare and cook them, develop practical skills, express themselves, discover their abilities and build meaningful relationships with peers and mentors. Through reflection, commitment, certificates and the Ekikaari Alumni Family, the programme seeks to inspire young people to become responsible, confident and purposeful members of their communities and society.
